TMA Men of Color Affinity Group Meeting
Thanks to the initiative of TMA’s Women of Color Affinity Group and group founders Sherrod Bundage and Mustafa Shameem in getting this off the ground, this new group now meets quarterly on the first Wednesday as a way for men of color who are living with myositis to connect, share their stories, and learn more about myositis and how they can navigate the challenges of chronic disease.
About the Leader
Ricky Marks obtained a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science degree from the University of Toledo. Ricky however found his calling working with Bristol Myers Squibb as a sales representative and district manager. Ricky worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 36 years. His career in the pharmaceutical industry allowed him to develop a stronger understanding of drug-based therapeutic intervention and how to convey key features and benefits to physicians utilizing pharmaceutical products to extend and enhance human life. Ricky was diagnosed with Inclusive Body Myositis in 2016 and serves on the board of directors of The Myositis Association. Ricky and his wife Cynthia live in Georgia near their two adult children, Christopher and Kameron.
