From our earliest days, The Myositis Association (TMA) has worked hand in hand with the global myositis scientific community to improve the lives of people affected by these rare diseases. Together, we have supported groundbreaking research, expanded knowledge of myositis, and ensured that patients, care partners, and healthcare professionals have access to trusted, evidence-based information.

At the center of this collaboration is TMA’s Medical Advisory Board (MAB), a distinguished group of leading myositis experts from around the world who provide scientific guidance and expertise across our programs and initiatives. Beyond the Medical Advisory Board, many researchers and clinicians contribute their time and knowledge through educational programs, research activities, content review, conference presentations, and other volunteer opportunities that support TMA’s mission.

Medical Advisory Board Service

Medical Advisory Board members are appointed to a three-year term, renewable once for a maximum of six years of service.

As members of the MAB, experts help guide TMA’s scientific and educational efforts, ensuring that our programs and resources reflect current evidence and best practices in myositis care and research.

Each year, a limited number of positions become available on this prestigious board. We encourage interested experts to express their interest in serving.

Please complete this form to tell us about your background, expertise, and areas of interest. To be considered for the Medical Advisory Board during the current nomination phase, please complete this form by September 7, 2026. Please note: in 2027, the MAB is particularly recruiting for experts from the fields of neurology, dermatology, pulmonology, and those with experience treating IMNM.

Information submitted through this form will be considered for Medical Advisory Board openings as well as other volunteer opportunities appropriate to your expertise and interests.

If your qualifications align with an available Medical Advisory Board position, we will contact you by early December 2026. We may also reach out regarding other opportunities to contribute through educational activities, research initiatives, content review, conference participation, advisory groups, or other volunteer roles.

Thank You

The progress made in myositis research, education, advocacy, and patient support would not be possible without the partnership of dedicated clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals.

Whether you serve on the Medical Advisory Board, participate in a specific project, or contribute your expertise in another capacity, we are sincerely grateful for your commitment, generosity, and dedication to the myositis community. Together, we can continue to advance knowledge, improve care, and create a brighter future for everyone affected by myositis.
